One Listing. More Exposure.

One Listing. More Exposure.

The idea behind one listing, more exposure

One of the interesting ideas in the Open Real Estate announcement is a simpler way to handle listing information. The proposed platform aims to let participants enter information once and share it with authorized brokerages, MLS systems and other participating destinations. Anyone working across multiple real estate systems knows why that possibility is worth exploring.

Technology should remove friction

Better technology should free up more of an agent’s time for client relationships, sound advice and negotiating. Less repeated data entry and more consistent information could be useful, particularly for agents managing busy businesses. Buyers and sellers may benefit if a connected system ultimately makes property information easier to access across participating networks.

There is still work to be done

The proposal is not the same thing as a proven result. Adoption, data quality, permissions, MLS integration, governance and compliance will all matter. We should watch the implementation closely before claiming any particular improvement in exposure or consumer outcomes.

What I want agents to take from this

As I move from RE/MAX to Real, I’m thinking about how agents can work smarter and make informed brokerage decisions. I don’t see technology as a substitute for good agents. I see it as something that should make good agents more effective. If you’re exploring what your next chapter could look like, The Brokerage Shift is where I share those conversations.
